During a session at the Hellfire Club, Mistress Elektra allowed Paul to use a gas mask with poppers. After twenty minutes, she finds him choking on his stomach contents, dying from an overdose.[2]
Pray Tell passes out on stage during a ball while making an announcement about the annual AIDS cabaret. Blanca Evangelista and others quickly rushed him to Roosevelt Hospital to be monitored.[6]
Blanca Evangelista encounters Adrian at the restaurant after being rescued. After a couple of minutes of conversing, they set for a walk alongside the beach, much to Elektra's dismay.[9][10]
Blanca Evangelista, after recovering from her debilitating condition, takes on a position in the Roosevelt Hospital's HIV ward as a nursing assistant. While employed, she meets Dr. Christopher, and the two quickly strike up a passionate romantic and sexual relationship.[12]
After a sweaty, restless night, Pray Tell, accompanied by Blanca Evangelista and Judy Kubrak, visits the doctor to check his health. Dr. Greenburg informs him that he has developed AIDS-related lymphoma, limiting his life span by six months.[16]
Pray Tell returns to Pittsburgh to visit friends and family to give forgiveness for past transgressions in his life.[16]
Removing make-up from his face, Pray Tell prepares for bed and dies peacefully in his sleep from AIDS-related heart complications. The following morning, Ricky Wintour discovers his lifeless body and calls for an ambulance. Blanca Evangelista learns of the news during her shift and tearfully cries in Ricky's arms.[18]
